About Us

The United State of Women is a national organization dedicated to convening, connecting, and amplifying voices in the fight for full gender equity. We are a community for all who identify as women, gender nonconforming, or allies, believe in full gender equity, and want to work collectively to achieve it.

Through our biennial summit, regional Galvanize events, Ambassador program, and online engagement, we strive to build and strengthen coalitions at all levels, connecting partners and new audiences to each other in order to enact meaningful change and create a more united #StateOfWomen.

Born out of the Obama Administration’s White House Council on Women and Girls, USOW holds a unique position within the movement. We sit at an uncommon intersection of politics, community engagement, culture change, and leadership development.

Have joined together for trainings and workshops with USOW since the 2016 United State of Women!

It’s the first time I’ve really felt that I was in a room of women committed to improving society. There was a strong sense of community, support, and passion for the work. Not only from the speakers/panelists, but from everyone in the room.

USOW teamed up with the cast of TV Land’s Younger to urge the Senate to pass the Violence Against Women Act of 2019 and tripled the number of people taking action behalf of survivors.

Now, more than ever, we have to raise our voices, take action, and empower ourselves and each other. Stay up-to-date on events, action items, and work being done across the country.

We strive to make our programs and events as accessible as possible and want to bring USOW to communities in a way that minimizes any financial barriers.
