At the current rates, women won’t reach parity in elected office for far too long. But when women do become legislators, they’re more cooperative and successful at reaching across the aisle. We need to expand the pipeline so that more women can run for every level of office – encouraging our society to become more comfortable with women holding executive offices, not just legislative offices. Far too often, women who are qualified to run for office do not consider it as an attainable career path. Together, let’s change the conversation around women in leadership.
– We need to encourage more girls to see themselves as leaders
– De-stigmatize the narrative of “bossy”
– Consider running for office yourself and encourage the women around you to consider as well
– Invest in training for women to run for office
