Join the USOW Team!

Our team is growing and we want you to apply to join us. We’re hiring both full-time staff based in our DC office and part-time volunteers across the country through our Ambassador and Digital Force programs.

At United State of Women, we’re dedicated to connecting, convening and amplifying voices in the movement for full gender equality. Our strength is in our power as a convener. USOW amplifies the work of organizations and individuals at the forefront of the fight for women’s equality, and provides tools, access and connections that help women see and step into their power to break down the barriers that hold women back.

The United State of Women is housed at Civic Nation, a non-profit organization that uses organizing, engagement and public awareness to address some of our nation’s most pressing challenges.

  • Organizing & Program Manager (View posting and apply here): USOW has set an ambitious goal to spur 1 million actions in 2018. Actions are our measurement because when women and allies take action, we can and will change policies, procedures and hearts for gender equality. To reach this goal, we are launching an Ambassador program in Summer 2018. Ambassadors are local leaders who are ready to step up and run United State of Women organizing projects in their local communities. Selected activists will receive the tools, data and community sharing needed to set goals, organize and win concrete steps for gender equality in their local community. The Program Manager will manage the Ambassador program.

  • Summer Interns (View posting and apply here): The United State of Women is seeking interns to support their small but mighty team on a variety of projects, from contributing to their digital platforms to planning USOW events across the country. The intern’s responsibilities will also include administrative tasks like maintaining the USOW mailboxes and scheduling. The ideal candidate will be passionate about women’s empowerment, enjoy keeping up with the news and social media, and be detail-oriented. This position is full-time and a stipend is provided. Class credit is also available upon request.

  • Ambassador Program (First Round now closed): Ambassadors are local leaders who are ready to step up and run United State of Women organizing projects in their local communities. Selected activists will receive the tools, data and community sharing needed to set goals, organize and win concrete steps for gender equality in their local community.

  • USOW Digital Force Fellow (First Round now closed): As the megaphone for important issues, we have to harness the most innovative communication methods to get our message out. Similar to the Ambassador program, USOW is recruiting budding content creators to pair them with media platforms looking to drive action, with the overall goal to own the internet and social channels in support of gender equality.
