The United State of Women is housed at Civic Nation, a non-profit organization that uses organizing, engagement and public awareness to address some of our nation’s most pressing challenges.
Digital Director (View posting and apply here): As the megaphone for important issues, the United State of Women seeks to harness the most innovative communication methods. The team is seeking a person to manage a robust digital program as well as lead on the strategy and execution of digital and creative projects via the Creative Alliance. The Creative Alliance is a network of media companies, digital platforms, creative agencies, production companies and other innovative entities that have pledged pro-bono capacity to helping Civic Nation initiatives. Responsibilities for this position include managing a Digital Ambassador program that will recruit budding content creators to give them the tools to make content to drive action, managing partnerships with large media platforms and creative agencies, and managing the online fundraising and advocacy efforts.
Development Director (View posting and apply here): The Development Director will be responsible for developing and implementing a fundraising strategy that attracts, educates, motivates, and inspires donors. The position reports to the Managing Director of the United State of Women and plays a critical role in achieving fundraising goals in order to expand the organization. The ideal candidate has an entrepreneurial spirit and thrives working on new projects with ambitious goals.
- Organizing & Program Manager (View posting and apply here): USOW has set an ambitious goal to spur 1 million actions in 2018. Actions are our measurement because when women and allies take action, we can and will change policies, procedures and hearts for gender equality. To reach this goal, we are launching an Ambassador program in Summer 2018. Ambassadors are local leaders who are ready to step up and run United State of Women organizing projects in their local communities. Selected activists will receive the tools, data and community sharing needed to set goals, organize and win concrete steps for gender equality in their local community. The Program Manager will manage the Ambassador program.
- Summer Interns (View posting and apply here): The United State of Women is seeking interns to support their small but mighty team on a variety of projects, from contributing to their digital platforms to planning USOW events across the country. The intern’s responsibilities will also include administrative tasks like maintaining the USOW mailboxes and scheduling. The ideal candidate will be passionate about women’s empowerment, enjoy keeping up with the news and social media, and be detail-oriented. This position is full-time and a stipend is provided. Class credit is also available upon request.
- Ambassador Program (First Round now closed): Ambassadors are local leaders who are ready to step up and run United State of Women organizing projects in their local communities. Selected activists will receive the tools, data and community sharing needed to set goals, organize and win concrete steps for gender equality in their local community.
- USOW Digital Force Fellow (First Round now closed): As the megaphone for important issues, we have to harness the most innovative communication methods to get our message out. Similar to the Ambassador program, USOW is recruiting budding content creators to pair them with media platforms looking to drive action, with the overall goal to own the internet and social channels in support of gender equality.
